We had the good fortune of connecting with Avery Estelle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Avery, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
It all started in Waco, Texas where I attended undergrad at Baylor University. At the time, I was in a Journalism class that had assigned us a task of interviewing a local business owner. I knew immediately that I wanted to meet the owner of Oh My Juice, the only juice and smoothie bar in Waco.

After interviewing her about the triumphs, challenges, and mission behind her business, I realized that marketing was a huge need of hers. Being a big fan of the store, I suggested that I intern for her and take over their social media platforms. Within a week of managing her social she had more than doubled her sales. This paid internship then turned into a 3 year partnership with Oh My Juice and led to more clients for me. She had fellow Waco business owners notice the change in her marketing and reach out to ask who was managing it for her.

I have always had a passion for helping local businesses and entrepreneurs, and felt that it was finally time to take flight in Charleston after a few years in the business community. It took a lot of faith in myself and my skills, but also faith in God that he would provide the people and businesses I needed to help. Owning and growing my business has been one of the most rewarding experiences namely because I have been able to connect with and help so many others who are pursuing their dreams.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
At Estelle Content Co. we understand that businesses require *personalized* marketing strategies, and that one-size does not fit all especially when it comes to Social Media Marketing. Social Media is an undeniable force in the business world today that isn’t going anywhere. We frequently connect with businesses who have been burned by big marketing agencies or simply aren’t getting the results they need with their current strategy/approach.

As the founder, I had years of experience in the marketing, advertising, PR, and event industry. I had the knowledge and experience needed to help businesses across the board, but found myself stuck in full-time positions that limited my capabilities. Nothing can replace hard work, continued education, and hustle. I have poured my life into my business, and it’s the reason that we are where we are today.

Our agency is unique in that we provide a full-service, boutique experience and approach to marketing. We strategically design custom packages for each of our clients because we know that every business has unique needs, challenges, and untapped opportunities. We get to know you and your business, and grow alongside you as your needs and goals change and evolve.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Wow – there are so many women that have helped me along my journey in the business world. First I’d like to recognize my stellar team – Chancey Bridges, Ashley Phillips, Jade Clayton and Lara McDougall.

I have been fortunate enough to be surrounded by intelligent and inspiring female leaders and visionaries. I would not have had the courage to take the leap to start my own agency without the career experience they provided me. To name a few – Buffy Kelly of Tattoo Projects, Beth Bell of BraveWorks, Ann Yancy of Ro Sham Beaux, Christa O’Leary of Home in Harmony Designs, Angel Holmes of LikeMinded and more. These women have shaped and sharpened me in both my professional life and personal development.
