We had the good fortune of connecting with Amber Lowden and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amber, Letโs talk about principles and values โ what matters to you most?
Being authentic is a very important principle in my life. No matter how discombobulated things in life get, I’ve learned through personal experience that being authentic is a person’s greatest value. Not only are you expressing a version on love towards yourself, but you’re also reflecting your own unique qualities out into to the world.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
In my field of work, I must say it is literally just a reflection of me. I call it “holistic health & healing” That what sets me apart from others, no category at all but living out a “divine purpose.” It all started with a simple bucket list of activities that led me here. It started with trying out hot yoga in 2017 which changed me as a person in ways I can’t describe, it was a new life journey that ignited in me, I attended teacher training in early 2020 just to deepen my practice with no intentions of being a teacher not knowing that I would fall in love with sharing my experience with others. As time passed, I became an Energy healer (reiki) practitioner, got certified in trauma informed yoga (2022) got my 500hr in yoga teacher training (2023), became a flexologist/stretch practitioner (2023) & a sound bowl practitioner (2024). This journey was indeed very challenging, uniquely filled with random growing experiences, & slightly agonizing. Applying my personal knowledge & skills into my daily life & sharing those experience with my environment helped me overcome so much. Hello world, “My Pain is my Power” & the past has formed me into a phenomenal individual & still more to come.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take a friend to Paris Mountain State Park for a small hiking to see nature. It is such a beautiful place to release stress & get a breath of fresh air. Afterwards we could visit Other Lands Brewery for a nice coffee or latte.
Spend a day at Unity Park near downtown Greenville, grab tacos, sunbathe or watch the lazy river. Maybe even rent some bikes & hop on the swamp rabbit trail.
Once the weekend approaches, Coffee Underground is a great place to watch a play, speakeasy, & some poetry. After a good show spend an evening downtown Greenville, walk the Reedy River, & relax at many rooftop bars & restaurants.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
If I could make a shoutout to anyone that would be my “higher self” that invisible portion of me that has been curious, eager & open to learn, & willing to take risks. ๐ฏ๐ฝ๐ ๐น๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ by Don Miquel Ruiz & ๐ฏ๐ฝ๐ ๐ซ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ป ๐ด๐๐๐ ๐ฎ๐๐ท๐ธ๐๐๐๐ธ๐พ๐๐๐ ๐๐พ๐๐น by Joseph Murphy, are one of my 2 favorite life changing books that planted many seeds in my ongoing journey. Even in present time, I am always reflecting lot of the core values that both books have impacted on my life. Last but not least, a major shoutout to the peers who magically appeared on my path to allow me to keep growing & seeing everything from so many different perspectives.
