We had the good fortune of connecting with Samantha Regan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Samantha, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factors behind the success of my brand are authenticity and passion. As a lifestyle blogger and interior designer, I share my love for home decor, travel, fashion, and family. My audience connects with the real-life experiences of navigating life as a mom of four young children, mixed with styled moments for inspiration. One of my favorite things is that I get to share things I love and favorite finds that add ease and style to everyday life!

What should our readers know about your business?
Shining on Design is a blend of lifestyle blogging and interior design. I transitioned from a career in luxury and commercial real estate when my first daughter was born to pursue a more flexible schedule that allows me to balance family life with my passions.

It’s incredibly exciting to inspire others with my curated finds and approachable design tips that make interior design both fun and accessible. What began as a personal hobby has grown into a business, thanks to dedication, a love for creativity, and a supportive community.

Balancing the demands of running a business with family life can be challenging—like playing a game of Tetris, constantly shifting and adjusting—but it’s also very rewarding. My story is a testament to the fact that it’s possible to turn a passion into a business.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love this question! Here’s how I’d show my best friend an amazing 3 day weekend:

Day 1:
* Morning: Start the morning with a coffee in hand and a scenic walk through Rainbow Row, Waterfront Park, and the French Quarter. A visit to the iconic Pineapple Fountain is always a must.
* Afternoon: Shopping on King Street, Charleston City Market and lunch 167Raw Oyster Bar or Basic Kitchen
* Evening: Rooftop drinks at The Citrus Club at The Dewberry, followed by dinner at Sorelle or 82 Queen.

Day 2:
* Morning: Brunch, visit the art galleries in the historic district and take a carriage ride
* Afternoon: Hotel pool day, and/or spa (Charleston Place and Hotel Bennet are two favorites)
* Evening: Dinner at Post House Inn and a sunset walk down Pitt Street Bridge

Day 3:
* Morning: Brunch at Husk
* Afternoon: Sullivan’s Island for a beach day and Obstinate Daughter to eat
* Evening: Catching the sunset at the beach on Sullivan’s, with frose in hand from Co-op, is always a favorite. The olive oil and salt gelato at Beardcat Sweet Shop after is always the perfect way to end a night 🙂

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my husband, for his support over the years, which has been vital in growing my business while balancing the demands of our busy family life. I also want to thank the Charleston influencer community for being so welcoming and supportive. I’m incredibly thankful to call Charleston home and to be part of such an inspiring community!
