We had the good fortune of connecting with Tricity Shold and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tricity, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I grew up in Washington State in the Vancouver area up until a year ago when I relocated to Spartanburg, South Carolina. Growing up both of my parents had their businesses and still do today. I saw the hard work they had to put into it, the sacrifices they had to make, and the tenacity that they had in doing what they loved. This impacted me in a lot of ways I did not know until I started my own business. I already knew what hard work looked like. I saw the time and commitment it took along with the consistency of getting through slow periods as well as how to deal with busy ones. In my household, if you committed to something it was your job to see it through and put your best efforts in it, even if it was not the most ideal. This is how I run my own business today, with passion, consistency, and grit to deal with the ups and downs that come with it.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am an independent life insurance broker which means my priority has always been and will remain to be the client. I work with people who are looking for life insurance, disability coverage, Long-Term care, annuities, and those who are signing up for Medicare for the first time or are looking for a new plan. I work with dozens of different highly rated companies to ensure that every one of my clients receives a product that fits their needs and their budget.

Getting where I am today business-wise has not been easy but it comes down to consistency. Being consistent and intentional with my processes throughout each day is how I have continued to keep going. This provides me with the structure and balance I need to provide the best service to my clients. Even with different challenges coming my way, I have developed a solid foundation of processes to rely on in my day-to-day life to keep me motivated, productive, and dependable.

I want people to know that I want to get to know each one of my clients on a personal level not only to provide them with the right product but to build trust. Trust is very important to me and it is the foundation I want to create with every individual I work with. When it comes to finances it can be quite scary and feel like a big leap so I take a lot of time to make sure my clients feel comfortable throughout the whole process, making sure all their questions are answered as well as making sure they feel they are being listened to and understood.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would have to take them to the Greenville Famers market for sure. The downtown area is super walkable with so many places to eat and stores to check out. On top of that, you have Falls Park, which is beautiful. This area is a must-see for people visiting for the first time. Of course, you have the Spartanburg area as well. The downtown Spartanburg area, while a lot smaller than Greenville has just as much to do. Great restaurants down there and a great hangout spot on the weekends. Croft State Park as well as Paris Mountain State Park has some beautiful trails and I love going kayaking on those really hot days so we would have to do that.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my family. They have been my biggest support system.
