We had the good fortune of connecting with Demontae Edmonds and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Demontae, how do you think about risk?
Risk is often a word that is mentioned with a negative connotation. However, I believe risk is a necessary ingredient for success. Risk is also a demonstration of faith. Calculated risk can render great results and pay great dividends. Many individuals have become wealthy by taking calculated risk in their industries and fields of business. People in the investment world know that big returns only happen with some of the riskiest investments.

Taking risk has played a major role in the assignment God has called me to in life. Often times God will lay upon my heart to something peculiar or that seems highly improbable. Often times the connections, resources, and “know how” may not be in place or present but somehow things seem to always work out for the best. Some of the riskiest decisions that I have made produced moments of the greatest harvest and joy. Any world changer or destiny shaper will have to learn when and how to take calculated risk.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As an international faith-based speaker and author it has been a privilege to empower people, equip leaders, and help communities. I’m most proud of being able to bring light into some of the darkest places of the world through messages of faith and hope. The journey has not been easy. God called me to build and start from scratch. Some of the biggest challenges for me early on was believing in my own self and overcoming the fear of public speaking.

One of the lessons that I have learned along the way is to not chase success or opportunities. Rather one should work on perfecting their craft, keeping a pure heart, and being integral in one’s relational and professional dealings. I would like the world to know that the messages and books God allows me to release will help change lives and communities for the better.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting South Carolina. I would take him down to Charleston. It is known for its great cuisines and seafood.
The Charleston Harbor Fish house is always a winner along with Hank’s Seafood restaurant. A visit to Riley Waterfront Park would allow us to check out Cooper River and the Charleston Harbor. A stop by the Charleston Museum would give us insight into Charleston’s and South Carolina’s rich history.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to recognize Apostle Chuck Pierce of Global Sphere. He has dedicated his life into speaking into the future of nations and helping high-level leaders shift into their destinies. He has been able to have regional and national impact within many nations because he has been willing to take risk that could have affected his reputation and relationships for the sake of the betterment of mankind.
