We had the good fortune of connecting with Kat Beanland and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kat, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
One of the pivotal decisions that significantly contributed to my success, aside from choosing to start a business, was the profound act of finding, defining, and fulfilling my purpose. In my college years, I read the book The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. This book jump started in me a desire to not just have a deeper relationship with God but to also discover what God wants from me, what God has placed in me to fulfill. Some would call it destiny, but I call it the divine will of God for my life. This crucial step in discovering my purpose—to love and encourage people—was a revelation that brought my journey into sharp focus, as I realized that business coaching and consulting aligned perfectly with my intrinsic desire to assist others in their growth, champion their successes, and uplift them in their endeavors. Embracing my purpose not only provided me with a clear guiding light in my professional endeavors but also infused my work with passion, authenticity, and a genuine dedication to serving and empowering those around me. 

But this purpose doesn’t just exist in my professional life; it transcends into my personal life as well. As a mother, my purpose is not to simply prepare my children for adulthood. My purpose is also to show them the truth of God’s word, to show them the greatness that exists beyond their four walls, and to give them life experiences they can remember for a lifetime. I truly believe that when someone truly learns their life’s purpose, it will transform their life forever.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve built a successful career by laying solid foundations, but what truly sets me apart is my dedication to fostering collaboration and achieving tangible results. I take great pride in effectively leading teams through complex projects and witnessing the beneficial effects on the organizations we support.

Now I’ll tell you all those foundations weren’t easily laid, nor was the collaboration a walk in the park, but I’ve overcome those challenges and many others by staying strong, adaptable, and always seeking personal growth. Each experience has taught me valuable lessons – from the power of effective communication to the importance of persistence in the face of adversity. What I want the world to know about my brand is that I am committed to making a difference, driving positive change, and adding value wherever I go. My story is one of growth, determination, and a passion for creating a meaningful impact in every endeavor.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a coffee-loving foodie and my friends are well aware of this! That’s why our time together will be filled with lots of restaurant hopping. I love introducing my loved ones to new and exciting culinary experiences that they can’t find in their own cities, so I always plan a unique itinerary for each of them.

There’s something for everyone here, making it the perfect place to explore at your own pace.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family has been the driving force behind me for years, both the one that made me and the one that I made. That said, there are two individuals that stand out in my mind who deserve a shoutout, not because of what I’ve done but because of what they’ve silently done to get me here today: my mom and my husband. My mom, with her unwavering support, wisdom, and boundless love, has been the guiding light that illuminated my path through life’s challenges. Her nurturing presence and encouraging words have been a constant source of inspiration and motivation. Equally deserving of recognition is my husband, whose unwavering belief in my potential, unwavering dedication, and selfless support have been instrumental in my personal and professional growth. His resilience and faith in my aspirations have propelled me to greater heights and instilled in me the courage to chase my dreams. Together, their influence has been foundational in shaping the person I am today, and for that, I am forever grateful.
