Meet Quinny Lai | Founder/Lash Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Quinny Lai and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Quinny, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’ve always been interested in the beauty as a young girl. When I first found lashing, I loved being able to make others feel good about themselves. Such a small change to our eyes and yet it makes such a big difference in how we feel. I originally worked in a lash studio in Boston but when my family and I moved to Greenville, there was a lack of lash businesses. I was shocked! Not being able to find a salon to offer my lashing services, I decided to take a leap of faith and opened up my own business to continue doing what I love.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Although getting lashes may seem frivolous, I get so many clients that walk out my door satisfied with how good they look and feel. My clients love being able to wake up and not having to worry about mascara or even makeup because their lashes are already done. Whether you opt for a natural lash look or a bold volume look, it helps you feel put together. You look good, you feel good. Not every lash map will look good on every client so I really have to take my client’s eye shape into consideration. Do they wear glasses? Will the length of their inspiration picture be practical for their every day life? There are different lengths, curls, and even color lashes to choose from. Each client’s lash set is customized to their own needs.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My support from my family no doubt. Without their physical and emotional support, I wouldn’t have been able to do it ok my own. I also wouldn’t be as successful without the girls I work with. They show up every day and give their 100% and make working much more enjoyable.
