Meet Kayla Datys | Entrepreneur & Founder of Treasured Finds

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kayla Datys and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kayla, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success and the success of Treasured Finds is myself. I built this brand with the intention that my clients feel unstoppable in the clothes they’re wearing, while upholding sustainability within the retail and clothing industry! I am about to graduate with a bachelors degree in hospitality from the University of South Carolina. That being said, my personality is the type to want to make people feel good and add a little bit of a personal touch to whatever they are seeking. With Treasured Finds, my consumers are looking to feel good in stylish clothes and that’s why I love what I do!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I began treasured fines when I wanted to start a new chapter of my life. I just got a dog and I just got really into Thrifting more than I already had been. It became more of a passion rather than a hobby and then I branched out into sewing. I was spending so much time doing all this stuff I figured, I enjoy it. Why not make it my life work. So I began treasured and started doing pop-ups at first. It was tough because there is such competition for resellers here in Columbia but once I started putting more effort in and making treasured finds, my baby, I have been able to watch my business grow over the past five months and I’m so proud of whatever accomplished.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
if my friend came to visit, I would most definitely take them first to the salty nut as soon soon as they open because I love that place. The food, the vibes, the drinks, it doesn’t get better than the salty nut. The salty nut is also where I have my business meetings because it is such a welcoming environment. After that, I’d take them shopping around five points and walk on the river walk later in the day. That’s my ideal day here in Columbia.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would want to shout out my mom and dad, Kathy, and Harry for always being supportive in whatever route I go with my career. I also want to thank my family, friends, and my customers for supporting me whether it’s a repost of an Instagram picture or purchasing an item, all of it is appreciated and helped me get to where I am!
