We had the good fortune of connecting with Katie Lawson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Katie, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
I feel that the principle that matters the most to me is integrity. I was raised to stand strong in what you believe in and to always do your best. It was always so important to keep your word and to make an honest living. It is so important to be authentically you and to always do what you feel Is right. I have always tried to always treat others how I want to be treated.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I was absolutely terrified to start my book influencer journey. I was so scared! I had just lost my paternal grandmother who was my absolute best friend. Starting my book influencer journey helped save me. I needed to find some joy and with the encouragement of my husband I started sharing my love of books. I learned quickly that you have to brush off the negativity that can come from the internet. My book influencer journey has not been easy but, I have met some amazing authors and friends through the book community. I love romance books and thrillers. These two genres are the biggest pieces of my heart. I was just chosen as an influencer for a RomanceCon being held in March 2025, Lit in the Lowcountry. It is held in Charleston and is such an amazing event! I am so excited!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One hundred percent we would be going to M. Hudson Bookseller downtown Greenville! I love the vibe of the bookstore so much!!! I feel like Greenville has such an amazing downtown area! We would also have to go to a Greenville Drive game! Baseball is my favorite sport and I am a die hard Drive fan!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents and paternal grandparents were an integral part of my life. I had four of the best people who believed in me. Whenever I needed help or advice I had four people to be there for me without hesitation. My parents and grandparents always encouraged my passion for reading and always were willing to take a trip to the library or bookstore. My husband is also my biggest fan. He strives to support me every day. He is the reason I started my Book Influencer journey. His belief in me and my amazing family have truly made a difference in my life.
