We had the good fortune of connecting with Aimee Terhart and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aimee, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We loved the idea of a Blow Dry Bar here in Myrtle Beach. Several times, my daughter and I would say we wished one was here! We researched for a couple years and then finally felt like the timing was good for us to make the leap and open an independent Blow Dry Bar.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are the only “true” Blow Dry Bar in Myrtle Beach. We do not do any cuts or color services. Our business model is that is easy to get a last minute appointment, Each service take about an hour and is designed to get you on your way with one less thing to worry about, and make you look and feel fabulous! We worked very hard to create a beautiful space for women to come and relax.
A start up does have its challenges, You learn what doesn’t work first! Business needs, hours, and staffing have been the biggest challenges. But we just role with what comes our way, learn and grow from it.
The ultimate compliment is our repeat business and having clients tell their friends, We have really enjoyed meeting people, servicing them, and watching them leave the salon feeling like they are ready to deal with all the things the life throws at you!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Definitely would start the week at the beach for a few hours, Nothing better than a beautiful sunset at the beach. After a day at the beach on to Dry and Bubbly for a blow out and bubbly! Dinner at Flamingo Grill (my favorite) and some nightlife in Murrells Inlet. Some favorite hot spots for the week would be to shop in Pawleys Island, at some of the local shops eat at Bistro 90 for lunch. Cinza spa is amazing in North Myrtle Beach, you can spend the day there. Monkees of Myrtle Beach has the best the clothes, and accessories!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Dry and Bubbly was a vision that was able to come to reality because of two people. Josh Orsos, is a contractor that urged my daughter, Lilli and I we could do it. He not only was able to look at the location we were interested in and map out a plan. Bobby Terhart, my husband , was encouraging of us and did some behind the scenes work to make it all happen.
