We had the good fortune of connecting with Jahne Parham and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jahne, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Before going into Cosmetology, I was a work from home mom/wife to two children for about six years… As our marriage was dissolving, I had to figure out a plan to make a decent income while not sacrificing much of the time and flexibility I had grown accustomed to living while still being able to take care of my children. So, from that experience, Studio Pink the Beauty Bar was born!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Honestly, I believe the main thing that sets my salon experience apart from the experience at other salons would be my personality. I love to laugh and have fun! However, I also believe in educating my clients and taking the time to listen to them. I’m excited to be apart of the healthy hair journey of my clients! I’m excited to be a part of their lives… from weddings, to child birth, to kid’s growing up even including major life changes like the transitions of loved ones. I believe in family so its rewarding to not only have clients but to have clients that have become friends and family.

Getting to where I am today business-wise took a lot of faith. A lot of leaps. A lot of planning and trusting God to help the steps in the process to line up. I’ve also been blessed to talk to a lot of people I consider “wise counsel” that have either been where I desire to be or are currently where I’m striving to be.

Nothing in life that’s worth having comes easy so it was in no way easy to achieve. Overcoming was a matter of remaining focused on the main goal which is stability for my children and the flexibility of my time for me. Not losing sight of why I decided to go on this journey from the beginning. It’s caused me to stretch in grow in ways that I never imagined I need to or could actually do.

I’ve learned to trust myself more. I’ve learned to celebrate every win – even the ones we like to consider as small wins. I’ve also learned to pivot… change isn’t always bad! Change comes with growth! You can’t really have one without the other.

My life’s goal is for people to watch my journey or when they think of me to be encouraged and reminded that if Jahne’ kept going… so can I.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, this actually happened last year… My bestfriend was in town from Baltimore so before traveling to Greenville, we walked around downtown Spartanburg, went to Cleveland Park with the children and ate at Cribbs Kitchen on Main.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First, I must give honor to God. That’s pretty self-explanatory. With the help of God, my Mother and my Uncle, I’ve been able to achieve so much! So my shoutout goes to those three! I appreciate every bit of help they’ve given along the way!
