We had the good fortune of connecting with Candice Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Candice, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
As I was growing up I’ve always been drawn to art, especially photography; but there are a handful of pictures of me from my childhood that I’ve seen. So as soon as I received my first camera I wanted always to capture every moment I could.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Photography I believe is one of the greatest forms of art, you’re a wordless storyteller. What I get most excited about with photography is the moment when the client has gotten over the nervous jitters and finally opens up and starts to enjoy themselves, this is because you can catch their true essence when they feel comfortable. I got to where I currently am by being persistent. My favorite quote is “Persist until you prevail”, no matter how hard it seems, how much you lack, you aren’t booking clients, you keep going until you get to where you want to be. If could tell the world anything about Blissful Shots is that I will be a household name!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
breakfast we would go to Staxx or Eggs Up Grill

we would go shopping at Haywood Mall, target (to get things we DONT need)

we would go for a nature hike at unity park going down swamp rabbit trail

we would later in the evening go eat at Longhorn, or if we are feeling sushi we will hit Otto Izakyia

for night fun we would go to the Venu night lounge

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
To Sight4Ever Photography for always allowing me to shoot with them during weddings, really helping me develop skills in my photography. Another shout-out is to anyone who saw my potential when i was just playing around with photography. Lastly to my Husband John, thank you for all the love and endless support with everything that I do i couldn’t ask for a better person to do life with.
