We had the good fortune of connecting with Elizabeth Grace Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elizabeth Grace, why did you pursue a creative career?
I didn’t pick my careers; the careers picked me. My passion for artistic expression and creativity has always been a guiding force in my life, naturally leading me towards a career that allows me to explore and share my unique perspective with the world.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
From my childhood, I held a camera to capture moments with family and friends, fascinated by the ability of a small machine to freeze time on paper. Photography transitioned from a source of income in my early 20s to a profound passion. Navigating through moments with people and pets, I discovered a talent for coordinating events and weddings, ensuring seamless organization. A highlight of my photography is the joy of coaxing genuine laughter—after a few playful chuckles, authentic smiles emerge.
I also find joy in staging candid shots. Beyond merely capturing images, I strive to make my photography a meaningful experience. I take pride in my work and am consistently committed to ensuring customer satisfaction.
I chose the name “Capture Your Happily Ever After” to symbolize modern-day freedom in achieving one’s unique version of happiness. Whether it’s a photo session with a partner, a job promotion, or capturing moments with pets in the park, or whatever… it’s all about embracing and choosing YOUR Happily Ever After.

In my first children’s book, “A Step in the Magical Woodlands,” I present a different world filled imagination, adventure and kindness, conveying the key lesson of paying it forward in life. The main character shares my son’s name and bears a resemblance to some of his physical features.
In this enchanted realm, creatures converse, discovering the art of assisting one another without expecting anything in return.
I’ve just launched the audiobook for “A Step in the Magical Woodlands,” with the invaluable assistance of We Dream Studios and Chris Caporuscio. Discover the audiobook at Barnes & Noble, alongside the print version. Additionally, you can explore both formats on various online platforms and find them in local establishments like Main Street Reads, Tweedle Beedle, and Turning Pages Bookstore.

In August 2023, I founded a networking company named Empowered Prosperous Connections. It goes beyond a typical network group for business owners, boasting a diverse community of over 30 big and small business owners in our EPC networking group.
During the first 20 minutes of each meeting, we shine a spotlight on a new member, giving them the opportunity to share aspects of their business with fellow business owners. This time allows us to capture high-quality footage, behind the scenes videos, and conduct interviews or a Q&A to showcase the highlighted business.
Empowered Prosperous Connections can help with referrals. It’s a space where we learn from each other. Sharing insights on marketing, business development, and local growth. Swapping stories about what worked and what didn’t. We can navigate paperwork together, refine our conversational skills, public speaking, and team up for sweet joint discount deals. We also have partnerships with website design, internet marketing, and photography, videography deals.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d treat my best friend to a delightful dinner at the Charleston Grill, invite them to one of my networking meetings for my company, Empowered Prosperous Connections, and share moments with my family at home—perhaps playing old-school Nintendo games like Mario Party for some laughs. We’d cap off the day with a peaceful walk on Morris Island, enjoying a drink at sunset, and staying to gaze at the stars by the waters edge.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to extend a heartfelt shoutout to my parents, Karen & Gary Scilabro, my husband Jason Smith, my son Benjamin Smith, and friends such as the Liz and Matt Hackman and other family and friends for their support. And, believe it or not, a special acknowledgment to the best instructor of all—my failures in life. Failing has been a tough but invaluable teacher, pushing me to persist, learn, and ultimately succeed after many attempts. Embracing failures is part of my ongoing journey to learn and succeed.
