We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Ronda Stinson Boyd and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Ronda Stinson, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My first venture outside of joining several multi-level marketing companies was the Passion 2 Pay Project, www.passion2payproject.org. I initiated this project as I was disheartened by seeing college students spending five to six years in college, accumulating debt, and graduating without a clear vision of their future. Often, their degree did not align with their passions or interests. A defining moment occurred when my daughter, at nine years old, was asked by her doctor about her future career aspirations. When she responded that she wanted to become a photographer, he dismissively asked, “No, what do you really want to be?” I don’t want any child to doubt their abilities and dreams because of others’ opinions.
In my view, schools and colleges often pigeonhole students into specific roles, rather than encouraging them to pursue their passions. This led me to create the Passion 2 Pay Project, a non-profit organization that I have been running since 2016.
My second venture, F.L.O.W. with Ronda, www.flowwithronda.com emerged about three to four years ago as a response to a lack of understanding about generational wealth in our community. The concept of generational wealth, beyond merely having a life insurance policy, seemed foreign to many. The common perception was that life insurance is primarily used to cover funeral costs, rather than providing a substantial legacy for future generations.
Therefore, the mission of F.L.O.W. with Ronda is to educate families, from children to adults, on financial literacy. Our aim is to instill the understanding of budgeting, financial literacy, and the creative use of insurance policies, not only as a means to cover funeral expenses but also as an instrument to pass on generational wealth.

What should our readers know about your business?
“Passion 2 Pay Project” and “F.L.O.W. with Ronda” are initiatives focused on educating communities about financial literacy, emphasizing that it’s viable to earn income from one’s passions. In our non-profit, we teach children how to start a business based on their interests, covering all aspects including business plan creation and marketing. “F.L.O.W. with Ronda” envisions a community transformation where increased wealth access becomes a reality. This provides us with an opportunity to educate people on creating their own financial security and escaping debt, utilizing strategies that deviate from traditional norms.Stepping out in faith always involves taking a risk. This is because it means venturing into the unknown, a process that is inherently risky. Each day, everyone takes risks; it simply depends on whether these risks are taken while following their hearts and guided by faith. Doing nothing in life can also be viewed as a risk; it’s a passive acceptance of whatever may come, as opposed to actively shaping one’s own narrative. I’ve always believed in following my passions and creating a positive impact for the future generations by thinking outside the box and pursuing education on subjects that may not be immediately apparent. My career has been a journey of taking risks. After spending 19 years in a corporate job, I was faced with the decision of either continuing in the same vein or pursuing something new and closer to my heart. Encouraged by my husband, I chose to veer off the beaten path and start my own non-profit. My focus shifted from the corporate world to educating families about finances and the importance of generational wealth. As I transitioned from the P3 Passion 2 Pay Project to F.L.O.W. with Ronda, my focus has always been on children, the future generation. Teaching them about wealth management is crucial; otherwise, the wealth might not last beyond a generation.
Taking the risk to talk about creating your own bank, a topic rarely discussed in our communities, was a big step for me. If you ask three different insurance agents about creating your own bank using insurance policies, you’re likely to get three different responses. It’s not a well-known concept in our communities, and the understanding of the idea greatly depends on one’s level of education on the subject. The key to my success with the non-profit initiative, “Passion 2 Pay Project”, and F.L.O.W. with Ronda, is my unwavering belief in divine providence. I’m convinced that as long as I continue to follow the path God has outlined for me, I will be well taken care of. “Passion 2 Pay” is an after-school and summer program; though I could charge for these services, I heard a clear divine message indicating that it should operate as a non-profit. When individuals approach me about starting their own nonprofit, my first question is always, “Have you consulted with God about it?” It is my steadfast belief in God that set me on this path initially, prompting me to constantly look to Him for guidance, to ensure we have what we need. This same principle holds true for all my brands and companies; the same foundational reliance on divine support plays a crucial part. I firmly believe that once God has instilled a vision in you, giving up should never be an option, no matter how challenging the journey gets. Pausing to regroup is one thing, but completely abandoning your goal is another. Some might disagree, as there have been countless times when I’ve faced difficulty in various aspects of my venture, F.L.O.W. with Ronda. To carry out this endeavor, an insurance license is required, which I have held for over 12 years. Despite the challenges, I never let my license lapse, renewing it annually because I knew how hard it was to pass the exam. I was determined to find a way to utilize this license effectively, and now I’m doing exactly that with F.L.O.W. with Ronda. This platform allows me to help people create their own bank, which in turn aids them in their journey out of debt. I’ve always loved working in the insurance field, visiting people’s homes, even while juggling a 9-to-5 job. When I discovered that my husband was uncomfortable with me making house calls, and the industry was shifting towards virtual interactions, I started researching the Infinite Banking Concept and its role in creating generational wealth. Being a part of a company that helps people get out of debt using Infinite Banking gave me a fresh perspective: it is indeed possible to get out of debt and build wealth simultaneously. Thus, if you have a plan and an Infinite Bank, you can achieve financial freedom. Hence, I believe one should never give up on a dream that is deeply rooted within them. Take a pause if necessary, but always keep moving forward.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For a week-long culinary adventure with my best friend, we’ve planned a delightful mix of local flavors and fun activities. Monday:
We’ll start our week with breakfast at Eggs Up Grill on Devine Street, known for its famous egg dishes and pancakes. We’ll savor the Blueberry Muffin, cut in half and grilled, accompanied by eggs and bacon.
Tuesday:
Our breakfast destination will be Cafe Strudel, renowned for its hangover hash browns and scrumptious pastries. We’ll try the shrimp and grits for a unique breakfast experience.
Wednesday:
We’re off to Lizard Thicket ElmWood for a small plate of fish, grits, and eggs in the morning. For lunch or dinner, we’re excited to watch the cooks at Sumos prepare our food right in front of us.
Thursday:
We’ll head to Travinia Italian Kitchen and Wine Bar for my favorite dish, Shrimp Messina (GF) – sautéed with mushrooms, spinach, toasted pine nuts, served with lemon butter and cappellini.
Friday:
We’ll have shrimp egg foo young at Egg Roll Express for lunch. For dinner, a seafood bag with Yummi sauce, shrimp, and crawfish from Yummi Crabs is on the menu.
Saturday:
We’re planning to visit a food truck named Fish and Fellas. Depending on when my friend is in town, we’ll definitely attend the State Fair in October or the Crawfish Festival in May.
Sunday:
We’ll relax by the river at Riverfront Park during the warm months, enjoying charcuterie boards made by Chef Anie from www.dinewithchefanie.com. We’ll also try the homestyle breakfast with eggs, bacon, and hashbrown casserole from Cracker Barrel in Sandhills and end our day with a chai latte and pastry from Loveland Coffee or a vanilla chai latta and avocado toast from Indah Coffee.
And that wraps up our flavor-filled week!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to recognize two organizations that have inspired me to take decisive action and effect change in the lives of families and children. The first is Final Authority Christian Church and Destiny Bible College, led by Pastor Jeffrey James. His narratives and testimonies about his journey to establish his own church motivated me to acquire my first commercial building. The second is Capital City Chiropractic, a Maximize Living Office, owned and managed by the remarkable duo, Dr. Sarah Losby and Dr. Katie Parks. Their unwavering determination to improve the health of Columbia, SC, one patient at a time, keeps me motivated to persevere, regardless of external circumstances. These two organizations and three individuals have instilled in me the belief in possibilities and the conviction that my work can change the world.
