We had the good fortune of connecting with Emily Paulsen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Emily, what do you attribute your success to?
A willingness to rebel from the industry norm and build a business differently.

The branding world has become very specialized with different providers exclusively offering one specific service: IE logo design, brand strategy, copywriting or web development. Since every brand needs every piece, you either have to source several individual experts or spend a lot of money on an agency that has all those experts in house. Neither of these solutions are helpful for busy entrepreneurs. Electric Collab is a one-stop shop, offering bespoke brand strategy, messaging, design and websites at an accessible price so you don’t waste time, money, or energy tracking down a lot of different people and crossing your fingers that the work feels cohesive.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
After 14 years working in brand and marketing for big names including Abercrombie & Fitch and Wendy’s, scrappy startups and small businesses, I founded Electric Collab Brand Studio to help female entrepreneurs expand their business potential with a brand that matches the incredible quality of their work. We take a comprehensive approach to build brand and website experiences that attract, connect with and convert ideal clients.

Why does any of that matter?

Everyone has unique value to share and a story to tell. For business owners, branding is the tool to share those messages with the people who need them most.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We’ve heard that it takes a village to raise a child. I’ve come to believe it takes a village to become a fulfilled adult. The support and encouragement I’ve had is abundant (I’m a lucky lady) but the advice that means the most has one thing in common: it makes me believe anything is possible.

From my parents telling me that consistent commitment can achieve any goal, to Dolly Parton showing me that being unique is worth millions, the inspiration I cling to reminds me to be myself. That’s the exact feeling I hope to instill in business owners through branding.
