We had the good fortune of connecting with Jimmy Sorrells and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jimmy, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I was in 5 different networking groups as well as being a member of an organization called Businesses For Liberty. I have never seen a networking organization for like-minded Patriot entrepreneurs and I got the idea to start one.
After talking with some close friends about the idea, I decided to start Liberty Networking. It has grown by word of mouth ever since then.
What should our readers know about your business?
Liberty Networking is an in-person networking organization that grows businesses by connecting Patriot entrepreneurs & professional sales people that promote liberty and operate with integrity! There are multiple chapters that meet bi-weekly and each chapter has one seat per industry.
We are currently in 2 states and growing.
The meetings are not rigidly business-like. They are fun and have a lot of laughter. We focus on building relationships because when you do, the business will come.
In addition to the meetings, we host a monthly social where we support a different local venue and non-profit every month.
I am most proud of the growth of the organization and more excited about watching the businesses and members in Liberty Networking grow and prosper.
I got to where I am today by a lot of hard work and making the right connections. By surrounding myself with positive people who want to be a part of something bigger than themselves.
No, it was not easy but it was worth it. I overcome the challenges by having great leadership and a board of advisors to help me make wise decisions.
I have learned to not let one bad situation or negative person ruin my day or week. Deal with it and move on.
When I have a function or meeting, I learned that no matter who is there, those are the people that are supposed to be there at that time. It is always a good turnout.
I want the world to know that Liberty Networking is here to support Patriot entrepreneurs and professional sales people. We will work together to help each other grow and learn and be better people.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I give a shoutout to Rick Burris and Elizabeth Weaver who helped me get this started. They provided guidance, mentorship, feedback, and ideas. The book I give a shoutout to is The E Myth. It was the first entrepreneur book I ever read and I learned a lot.
