We had the good fortune of connecting with Monique T. Weathers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Monique T., what role has risk played in your life or career?
Thinking about risk can be a complex process that involves assessing potential outcomes, weighing probabilities, and considering the potential benefits and drawbacks.

The roles taking risks have played in my life /career are Personal growth, Career Advancement,
Overcoming fear and building resilience, Seizing opportunities, and avoiding regret.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We take great pride in our work ethic and personalized approach: We believe each wedding is unique and should reflect the couple’s style and vision.

Our team takes the time to understand our clients’ preferences, dreams, and budgets, ensuring that their wedding day truly reflects their love story. Attention to detail:

We’re passionate about creating stunning and innovative designs. With years in the wedding industry, we have developed strong relationships with top vendors, venues, and suppliers. This allows us to offer our clients the best options, ensuring exceptional quality within their budget.

What we are most proud of and excited about:
Client satisfaction: We take immense pride in the positive feedback and gratitude we receive from our clients. Their satisfaction and happiness on their wedding day is our ultimate reward.
Building meaningful connections, continued growth, and learning.

We got where we are today with a combination of passion, education, experience, and networking. I started by gaining knowledge and skills related to wedding planning and floral design. Networking with industry professionals, attending workshops, and building an online presence to establish my reputation to connect with potential clients. Over time, word-of-mouth referrals and a portfolio of successful weddings and events contributed to our growth, and no, I will not say it was easy. Preservation and persistence were key to overcoming the challenges.
The main lesson learned along the way was to keep pressing and turn the NOs into New Opportunities.

Our Brand Story
Firefly Weddings & Events, LLC is a relatively young brand that was founded in 2016 and was initially partnered with RSVP Weddings & Event Design based in Columbia, SC. After a quick change of venue, it skyrocketed past the competition and into the popular vernacular. Firefly Weddings & Events is all about wedding consulting, styling, and floral design, yet it rarely advertises its search capabilities on the screen. When we do, we turn off the sales pitch and focus on human stories. Firefly Wed uses minimal branding and rarely includes a call to action. What’s consistent with the brand is the message that it can change your wedding planning journey.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout is dedicated to my deceased Mother, Bettye Myers-Hollis. She instilled integrity and a sense of being in me at a young age. She always said, “Let your word be your bond and remain humble.”
